How to reduce paint odours

Now our staff has put everything in order and the project is complete! Once the tidying up that we are so strong on has been done, we're off again. No trace of the work then remains at your home, except of course for your refurbished walls.  And also, it is true, alas, that pestilential smell of fresh paint that we have as much as you regret having left on the spot. However, as a compensating balm, we are sharing with you these 7 precious tips that could help you get rid of it or, at the very least, significantly reduce it.

Open the windows

This first trick is most obvious: open your windows in the area that has been given a coat of paint, and even open them in various parts of your home. The goal is to facilitate air circulation. At the same time, the newly applied paint will dry more easily. In this way, the strong odour will also gradually leave the premises.

Put in fans

Another possible means is to install additional fans to remove air from the premises. Another way to get rid of the unpleasant odour more quickly is to use a free-standing fan or use the functions of your air conditioner or air exchanger.

The coffee grounds

Coffee beans used by a client of Peintre Granby to change the odours in the house.
Do you like filter coffee? Then save the grounds and place them on a baking sheet. You'll be amazed at this odour-removing trick. The results will be proportional to the amount of coffee used. If you have a cookie sheet that is large enough, this would be optimal.

The lemon

Water with lemon juice added and brought to boiling temperature gives off fresh, acidic fumes that will eventually replace the smell of paint. Grated citrus peels, for example an orange, or their crushed peels, placed here and there in the premises, are also very effective.

Baking soda

Who doesn't have baking soda in their pantry or bathroom? This product is known for its ability to eliminate unpleasant odours. Also, by placing the bowls inside the room, you will get good results fairly quickly. Obviously, for a larger room, the quantity of baking soda jars will have to be higher to get satisfactory results.

Incense

The famous Armenian paper or the much appreciated burning incense, placed where you want the smell of paint to be replaced, can also be a good help. However, be sure to choose a fragrance that you like and that will not add to the pungent smell. Many people prefer pine or eucalyptus essences.

The onion

Three onions that will be used to eliminate paint odors following the passage of the contractor Peintre Granby.
This thing's obviously not gonna get everyone's approval. But you should know that the onion, which is almost always handy, is exceptionally effective. Simply place slices in 2 litres of water and bring it to the boil. You will be amazed at how quickly the effect is achieved. Except that it is true that the smell of onion is not suitable for everyone.
